Finally The God of High School ep 1 is coming. The new anime based on the homonymous manhwa, will be aired on Crunchyroll from July 6 2019. First of all, The God of High School is a manhwa, or a Korean manga, published since 2011 on the WEBTOON platform. The author is Yongje Park, who was the first Korean author of webtoons, whose work received an official English translation. So it’s easy to understand that The God of High School immediately made a lot of success, but let’s see why.

The God of High School ep 1, the plot
The story will faithfully follow that of manhwa: The protagonist is Jin Mo-Ri, a 17 year old boy, a great expert in Taekwondo, a martial art. Jin has never lost a fight and calls himself “Tough Guy“. One day he will be invited to the mysterious tournament “The God of High School” (or GOH). This particular tournament brings together all the biggest Korean fighters in order to choose the 3 strongest that will participate in the world tournament. During these winnings we will discover that the tournament fighters are able to use “Borrowed Power“, particular powers that are donated by mythological creatures, demons or gods. Our protagonist will be a “Pure Fighter“, that is a person who does not use Borrowed Powers, but who fights using only his own strength.
The God of High School: why should you watch it?
It seems that The God of High School will be an anime focused entirely on fights and strategies to be able to win them, there will be no room for useless chatter and speeches; here we fight each other. The techniques seem to be faithful to reality and the graphic style adopted is really fresh and innovative.
