TOP 20 MANGA SOLD THIS WEEK. June 2020

Today, March 24 2020, some data on weekly manga sales in Japan have been shared. Among some surprises and securities (Demon Slayer *coff *coff) in this article:

THE TOP 20 MANGA OF THE WEEK

20: KINNIKUMAN 71 (60.000 copies)

Kinnikuman or Ultimate Muscle is one of the most famous manga of all time! Everyone loves it and, during the pandemic, there were some publication slips. A few days ago the long-awaited number 71 came out. If you don’t know Kinnikuman, the manga is about a masked boy (Kid Muscle) who fights in various tournaments, trying to unravel the mystery related to his mask and his family. Between amusing gags and nice ballets, this work appeals to adults and children.

FROM 19 TO 10 AND 8-7-2: VARIOUS DEMON SLAYER Tankōbon

Demon Slayer or Kimetsu no Yaiba it’s the manga of the records. Over 60 million copies sold and, just this week, just under a million. A phenomenon like Demon Slayer has not been seen for some time, the work is slowly reaching the top places in the best-selling manga of all time. A new film related to the franchise will be released in Japanese theaters in October. It has finished its publication on Weekly Shonen Jump, what’s the future for the franchise? It is certainly a gold mine, fans are all hoping for a sequel (or a prequel) that, perhaps, will arrive.

9: OWARI NO SERAPH (71.000 copies)

Owari no Seraph (or Seraph of the End) has recently reached 10 million copies in circulation. This week it sold around 71,000, with the number 21; released on June 4th. This manga is also very popular, and the two anime series that derive from it have been appreciated. Will it also be the fact that the virus mentioned in the plot reminds us of what we are experiencing on our skin? (can you imagine if it really happened)?

6: NATSUME YUUJINCHOU 25 (78.000 copies)

Natsume Yuujinchou has been published since January 2005, and is still very popular as the data reveal! If you love the world of Yokai and spirits, you absolutely must not miss it. At times he might remember Yu Yu Hakusho for the topics covered, if you liked him, you will like this too.

5: CHAINSAW MAN 7 (95.000 copies)

A guy who can turn into a chainsaw man, what more can we say? This manga is really cool! Recommended for all Shonen lovers where you hit hard, really hard!

4: BLUE EXORCIST 25 (137.000 copies)

In this top selling manga Blue Exorcist could not miss! The manga ended few months ago and, the publication of the Tankobon, proceeds quickly. Also this week remains among the best in its sector, with almost 100,000 copies sold, dizzying numbers! A deserved success for the work of Kazue Kato, the mangaka has managed to create a fresh and interesting story, absolutely to read.

3: Jujutsu Kaisen 11 (151.000 copies)

And here is the protégé of Shonen Jump, Jujutsu Kaisen: Sorcery Fights! Through a tweet, the publishing house claimed to focus everything on this manga (also for the end of The Promised Neverland and Demon Slayer).

1: WORLD TRIGGER 22 (192.000 copies)

World Trigger is definitely a very particular manga. Started way back in 2013 and with a change of publishing magazine, it has slowly become increasingly popular. The series also has an anime with over 70 episodes and 2 seasons to its credit (the third will debut this year in Japan). If you are passionate about mysteries and aliens it could be a manga for you.
